Equine Assisted Therapy Available At Sky Ridge Ranch
On Your Path To Wholeness Why Not Incorporate a Proven Approach To Self Awareness and Recovery?
The Center For Equine Facilitated Addiction Recovery (CEFAR) offers an Equine assisted psychotherapy program that parallels the programs offered at Sierra Tucson and the Hazelden Treatment Center. It is a powerful adjunct therapy to the well established 12-step programs that are the standard in addiction treatment. Equine Assisted Therapy is a practical modality that incorporates a trained facilitator, equine specialist and horses. It has a profound impact on individuals, youths, families and groups and the professionals that serve them. The Equine Assisted Psychotherapy(EAP) offered here at Sky Ridge Ranch addresses a variety of mental health needs including chemical dependency, depression, grief and loss, eating disorders, anxiety, communication issues, attention deficit disorders, mental and emotional behavioral issues and relationship challenges.
Your Emotions Are A Valuable Source Of Information About The Changes That Need To Be Made In Your Life
Let The Horses Show You How To Use Your Feelings As Powerful Allies for Safety and Success
This therapeutic approach assists clients in reconnecting with their emotions and learning how to utilize them skillfully to promote health and healing. In a safe environment, clients are provided an opportunity to practice emotional competency skills that facilitate their ability to observe their behaviors and see how they impact self and others. All activities are completed on the ground. No horseback riding or knowledge of horses required. The focus of our program is the development of emotional agility and social intelligence. By learning how to work with strong, often negatively-charged emotions, clients have enhanced capacity for: - problem solving
- self-awareness and self-efficacy
- accessing support networks
- addressing blocks in recovery
- relapse prevention
Each therapeutic session is customized based on the desired outcomes. Through facilitated activities using the horses, participants viscerally experience their self-limiting patterns of thought and behavior. This therapeutic methodology is about learning by doing which includes observing our reactions to unfolding events, then reflecting and discussing the broader application for what has been revealed. It's an immediate, heartfelt experience that is offered in the company of horses, which is why equine assisted psychotherapy is being integrated with other healing modalities throughout the world.
I'll be announcing the faculty members of the Center over the next few weeks.
